I want to believe that this would be used for good. But I know it wont.

Google will be our savior here. Getting Google into more communities is whats going to drive the telcom giants to change.

Isn't the best way to do that to allow a free market with minimal government regulation?

Might as well pay them to lay the infrastructure everywhere and other ISP's use it. Similar to here.

My ISP is the only ISP in the UK that doesn't share the fiber to door or fiber to cabinet infrastructure here.
