There's an absolute shitload to do for tourists.
Willis Tower (Sears Tower), the John Hancock building (go to the bar there instead of the observation deck), Navy Pier, definitely do an "architecture tour" (its a boat ride), Wrigley Field (you've got that covered), the Magnificent Mile.
The Museum of Art is great, The Field Museum, the Aquarium.
Just scratching the surface. You really can't run out of things to do.
Restaurants:
The Purple Pig
Girl & the Goat
Avec
Pequod's Pizza

Chicago Architecture riverboat tour is a must. You can take one from Navy Pier to kill two birds with one stone
Then I'd just hang out in Wrigleyville, maybe go to the Field Museum and some blues bars and stuff

Go to Wieners Circle in Lincoln Park around midnight. Great hot dogs.
Also, make sure to ask for a chocolate shake. They are world famous, and worth every penny.

If you golf and have time, play Sydney Marovitz course. Its on the lakefront, so the scenery is awesome. Its a short taxi ride from the Mag Mile area.
And go see a Second City show.
ETA: Stay away from Navy Pier. Absolute tourist trap.

Maybe some douchey art galleries. Other than that, Lake Charles has more fun stuff to do.

Chicago Symphony at Orchestra Hall on Michigan Avenue across from the Art Institute.
The best guide to entertainment is the CHICAGO READER.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Museum of Science and Industry, just a brief Metra ride from the Loop.
The Art Institute has probably the finest collection of French Impressionists to be found anywhere.
Second the architectural boat tour that leaves from Michigan Avenue and the Chicago River. Just be sure the Dave Matthews tour bus isn't in town.

I spent two days just walking around the city and stopping in to bars and restaurants on a whim. I never had a bad meal. Plenty of good live music. Interesting people. I don't think you need to "do" anything to have a good time in Chicago.
