I don't really watch MLS. DC United is building a new stadium near Nationals Stadium, so I'll probably start going to a few when it's built.
But I watch EPL every weekend. My Saturdays in the fall are wonderful (for me, not my wife) because I watch soccer in the morning and then college football the rest of the day.
Disclaimer - I'm certainly not a hipster.
I would rarely say this. But mainly because the games I watch are in the mornings here (afternoon and evenings in Europe). I may utter these words during World Cup time if the game is played in the Western Hemisphere or if the US has a qualifier or Gold Cup match.
I'm not sure where you live, but maybe you're only exposure to soccer fans are a few pictures of hipsters watching the World Cup online. Soccer is pretty mainstream now among fans in the DC area. We get back in the office on Monday and discuss soccer games from the past weekend along with football, basketball or baseball, depending on the season. I work in a financial services firm with certainly no hipsters.

"I want to get home so I can catch the soccer match" are words I've literally never heard in my life.
