I played soccer growing up and enjoyed it, but I've never been able to get into watching it. The funny thing is I have a positive view of Hockey (although I only occasionally watch it) yet it's got a lot of the same negatives as soccer, lots of back and forth with nothing happening. I think it's because I'm impressed with how well they skate, anyone can run on a field, not everyone can skate. There's also checking guys into the wall. Those 2 elements add enough distraction that I'll watch what is otherwise a similar game.
