Thats bc in terms of quality the MLS is around the top end of the 3rd division in England.

I don't watch that much MLS but now I think the top MLS teams have as much "talent" as most average European second division teams, especially with the large number of central and south americans joining MLS.
I have a friend who coaches college soccer, he said MLS still lags behind in tactics and coaching, and also that MLS teams are just starting to develop homegrown talent. As that happens fans will be able to follow players up the ranks and create more of a following for teams.
