Who knows. From what I understand he was stopped for a broken taillight. I have no clue why the incident escalated to them leaving their vehicles. But it's interesting.

Agreed.

But breaking the law (especially minor offenses) shouldn't result in your death.

In the original video I thought I saw wires dangling when the suspect turned to run. The wires made me think the taser had already been deployed.

Even if the guy running dropped the taser and whats see in the gif is the cop had picked it up and moved it you still don't move things at the scene of a shooting.

I am sorry I believe when I hear a cop say stop or Ill shoot, I am not chancing it

I personally don't see the police officer being found guilty as easy as some think IMO

He probably won't be found guilty of murder, but he'll be found guilty of something.

You can't shoot a man like that when he's running away from you. Whatever charge he's eventually convicted of will depend upon whatever a jury thinks his state of mind was at the time.

Not to mention that once you shoot someone, you don't tamper with the scene.

How in the world will he NOT be found guilty? This is as cut and dry as it gets. The guy posed zero threat to the officer and he was unarmed.

If this guy is not found guilty and given the maximum sentence it will set us back 40 years.

Cop never said "stop or ill shoot". He pulled his firearm and started firing. The only time you hear the cop say anything is when he is placing handcuffs on the suspect.

The only way it can be justified to shoot a person who is running away from you is if he is a threat to kill someone else.

He obviously wasn't a threat to the cops life anymore, being that he was running away from him. So the only other justification I can think of is if he was running away from the cop...towards another person..to kill them. Which certainly doesn't seem to be the case.

Them most incredible part of all of this might be that the cops never seemed to notice the guy filming them.

wanna know why I've never been shot by the police?

because I don't run from them and stop when told to do so

follow their orders and you don't get shot, pretty simple

you flee, you get shot

If you look closely you will see a black cop standing by the victim. He allows the white cop to plant the taser on the innocent victim.

Will there be an outcry from the black community about a black cop implicit in planting a taser on a black victim?

1. You don't have to look closely to see the black cop
2. He probably didn't even notice the white cop toss the taser on the ground. He was trying to figure out what to do with this guy who was dying.

Holy frick. I'm not sure which is more disturbing: That this disgusting murder occurred or that there are people that subscribe to this line of thinking.

Did the black cop shoot the guy? Or did the white cop shoot him? I didn't see BOTH cops shooting him. You know the black cop is not going to be charged with murder because he didn't shoot the guy.

Yet this will probably turn into a "racist white cop kills innocent black man" narrative instead of "white and black cop kill unarmed black man" true narrative.
