My brother tried to steal a few hundred K from
my sisters from my Mothers estate. I stopped him.

I was the executor.

Hate? Maybe.

For sure extreme dislike.

Once called my brother in law said he will come pick him up to go to the LSU football game. A thirteen year old boy is standing by the door all day waiting for his "dad" to pick him up. Halftime that little boy is still waiting at the door. He looks at me "my dad isn't coming is he?" No buddy he's not.

I think this is the saddest thing in the whole thread.

My in-laws hate me. I don't mean that as a joke, they told me how much they hate me not long ago.

I think they are trying to sabotage my marriage.

Yea, that is the saddest story in this thread. Scruffy would punch that deadbeat...or at least pay someone to punch him if he is bigger than Scruffy.

just ignore the bitch. When she talks to me, I never acknowledge or answer. Half of the time, she'll flip out because of it and cause a big scene, and half of the time she'll flip out and just curse at me. When she causes a scene, people leave the house....even at parties. She'll just turn and start ripping into random people who are in the other room

This is crazy! Everything about how your sister acts sounds just like a relative of mine. She wants nothing to do with my family, which I'm completely indifferent about. But I'm close with her sister and feel really bad since she has to see her parents being taken advantage of and deal with so much grief surrounding her sister's problems. There are children and a husband wrapped up in this situation as well. Won't get into details, but no one's happy. The sleeping thing is a big issue with my relative too...wonder what that's about. She's just not a good person, and unfortunately there's no saving grace for these types of people.

Absolutely. My two third cousins are the black sheep of the family and have acquired 2/3 Of our family ranch by inheritance. Neither is married or has children and the other 1/3 share has 13 family members that do not want to sell. These guys are both loners and despite numerous invitations refuse to go to family functions for the last 15 years. I'm 23 and have met each of them only 3-4 times.Regardless of the fact that the ranch has been in our family since 1885, they are the first generation unsuccessful enough to look at it as their retirement from their unsuccessful lives. Neither has a degree. One cousin was a fish tank cleaner and the other a manager of a catfish restaurant and out of the original 5000 acres they have sold 4000 and netted $8 million a piece. My grandmother owns the other 1/3 and although all it takes is one person to shoot the contract down she is not blood to the family (my grandfather was) and refuses to represent the other family interests. The sad thing is that if my grandfather was still alive they wouldn't have had the slightest inclination to sell because they know that he would never have considered it. Shitty situation all around.

For all these people saying their in laws, did you hate them from the beginning or was it once you got married, shite changed?

My fiancé is the oldest of 4 girls and I love her sisters, and her parents all seem to like me. Am I in for a ride awakening though?

I have an uncle that has been a drug addict for years. He is unreliable and constantly getting laid off. My family tried to give him odd jobs but he still doesn't show up on time. He's in his 40s. My parents have given him money since I was a child. He has stolen prescription pills from my father after he had rotator cuff surgery out our own home.

Do I hate them? No. I think they are crappy people but I don't spend my time loathing over them. Or hanging out with them. They're family at the end of the day. I much rather forgive and avoid then dwell and be bitter. It's not good for your soul and carrying that around seems exhausting

Absolutely hated my brother when we were growing up, hated. I was the youngest of 6 and he was number 5. That was when I was a child and decades ago. He is one of my best friends now and I would trust him with my life. He was the best man in my wedding. "Hate" is an emotion we can never have to little of.

I don't know about hate,but I my Nephew,Sister's Son,is intolerable.

He's legitimately insane,Bi-Polar without medicine.

Life would be better if he wasn't a part of it.

I've learned a new saying thru dealing with him.

"Crazy doesn't take a day off."
