I don't like the Buick one someone mentioned above with the wife and husband spying out the window at the neighbors.
It makes the wife look like a raging whore.
"Lucky for HER"(because she sees the guy getting out)
frick you, harlot.

There's an ongoing debate about that commercial.
Some people think that comment is her slamming her husband for not making enough money.
Buick isn’t the only automaker to play the prosperity angle.
These folks do too much analyzing & nowhere, near enough hating:
Here's a discussion about it where people are hating it either way.
quote:
Really sick of this commercial. The woman's obvious dissatisfaction with her own life/husband/home is beyond annoying. I get that people always want more but she is standing in a huge house while acting like her life isn't good enough. Why promote materialism?
quote:
Totally spoiled. Jealous. Selfish. Its a material world. Buick should be embarrassed!
quote:
So sick of this type of acceptable sexism for women. The woman biting her lip when she sees "Mr. Garcia" is such an enraging double-standard, and a great example of the current mindset that the feminist movement has brainwashed into the general public whereas it's perfectly acceptable for the dissatisfied woman to lust after Mrs. Garcia's sexy, money-making husband. Can just imagine if the roles were reversed and the guy with the binoculars was biting his lip over a well-off and sexy Mrs. Garcia...you can bet the feminists would have something to say about that. Bad form, Buick!(somebody watches Fox News)
quote:
The "Good for her" line makes me feel that Buick doesn't understand the role of women in the modern world. If Mr. Garcia were to get a raise, is that because his wife supported him as a home maker well enough that he was able to achieve success? Or, did she do nothing - She just lucked out to have a successful husband? Why should we be congratulating Mrs. Garcia for this? Shouldn't we save congratulations for her individual accomplishments - not those of her husband's?
quote:
For me the subtext of this ad is that she'd prefer to be SLEEPING WITH the other guy. For me, there is a clear SEXUAL subtext here. Yes, ostensibly it's about the raise the neighbor has received, but in reality the way she gazes at and talks about the handsome neighbor suggests sexual desire. If a male viewer identifies with the husband (as opposed to the neighbor), this ad is actually EMASCULATING. Said viewer feels he is being CUCKOLDED.
