There are exceptions to this, but, basically, you're correct. Here's another point: the spread guys are prone to take a lot of hits....ergo, they get hurt a lot. Secondly, the spread guys have a hard time getting a feel for defensive changes at the line. They get the call from the sidelines and run it no matter what play it is.
