It is not something I celebrate that we did. But, I appreciate our ability to end the war with those people without actually having to kill a lot more of them, with a proportionally greater loss to our own forces as well.

When people demonize the bomb and its use on a largely civilian population, one only has to return to facts such as the treatment of this crew, other POWs (Bataan, etc.), the citizens of the Phillipines, Korea, Nanking, other parts of China and just a whole bunch of things they did in buying what was coming to them in the first part of August 1945.

Thank G-d for Enrico Fermi and the miracle that was the Manhattan Project.

I had a family member involved in the Bataan death march. Some of the stuff he told usthe japs did to them before, during, and afterwards. I understand that generations hate for them.
