There is a reason there was so much animosity towards the Japanese after the war. They were BRUTAL. They were cruel and almost inhuman to pow's. We get all freaked out when there is a beheading on the internet by some terrorist scum, the Japanese tortured, mutilated, beheaded, and would willingly die blindly for their emperor. The bomb had to be dropped.
We did a number on their civilians with fire bombings as well.....

It is not something I celebrate that we did. But, I appreciate our ability to end the war with those people without actually having to kill a lot more of them, with a proportionally greater loss to our own forces as well.
When people demonize the bomb and its use on a largely civilian population, one only has to return to facts such as the treatment of this crew, other POWs (Bataan, etc.), the citizens of the Phillipines, Korea, Nanking, other parts of China and just a whole bunch of things they did in buying what was coming to them in the first part of August 1945.
Thank G-d for Enrico Fermi and the miracle that was the Manhattan Project.
frick yeah!
