I actually made it up to the ability to smith rune. It was hell running around in that PvP area trying to get the right ore though

Nice.. I probably sold Ore to you a few times
ETA - Buddy has an 07scape account with 83 mining on it and 30 combat. Just hopped on and walking around a little.. nostalgic

Mining and Smithing were horrible. A TON of work for no real payoff.
I stuck to skills I could actually make money on like herblore and farming.
