I think Boeheim/Syracuse and Jim Calhoun's UConn resurrection had a lot to do with that. Aside from the few good seasons here and there, St. John's had trouble keeping the talent in as they'd flock to Syracuse or UConn. I think the right coach at St. John's, especially given the current situation of both of those schools, can easily flip that.
