How on earth does this show that? The second or third best team beat the best team in the tournament so the tournament is bad?
I thought Wisconsin was better all year. Kentucky gets to win the title without ever playing any of the top 10 teams?

It is a lousy way to crown a champion.
The tournament is fun to watch because of upsets and unpredictability that stems from the format.
But in terms of crowning "the best team of the year", it's probably the worst format of the major American sports. One game in basketball is very fluid and on any given night a better team can lose to a lesser one. In football, one game makes sense and there's a lot less volatility between games, so it's harder for a lesser team to beat a much better one. NBA playoffs and MLB, NHL do series which really reduces the volatility of one game.
So very entertaining, but awful way to determine the best team.
