well, he got the guy to 3rd.

he just happened to roll into the DP.


best case, he singles and ends game.

2nd best case, he pulls the ball, either a sac fly or a FC. 1st & 3rd 1 out

That's part of the reason why he was allowed to swing away. Lefty hitter with speed. This happens in baseball all the time late in a game

He got the guy to 3Rd with 2 outs instead of 1 out. assuming they intentionally walk laird, you have the best hitter on the team with a guy on 3rd and less than 2 outs

With 2 outs. I don't think I have to explain how many more ways there are to score from 3rd with less than 2 outs than there are with 2 outs.



You're arguing for the sake of arguing and making this very simple situation complicated. It's very simple, bunt the runners over and you have Laird and Bregman up to get one in. It's really the only move.
