A whole lot of deliciousness. I always put a bay leaf in with my rice, but that's the only thing I use it for. I don't really notice a difference in any other dish.

I don't cook rice with them all the time but it does impart a nice flavor. He asked what do they do to a dish. I was giving a way of seeing for himself that he could try.
