Maybe so the person you're fighting doesn't use it to pull over your head like in hockey fights?

If you get your shirt pulled up over your head in a clinch, you're helpless. Not saying everybody who takes off their shirt is thinking that far ahead, but there's a legit reason to take your shirt off in a fight.
I haven't been to Bourbon St in ages. It was always trashy, but most people were there to have fun. Now it looks like people are walking around looking for an excuse to start shite. That's just disturbing.
