As far as abstaining from meat for Fridays during Lent goes, warm-blooded animals (birds and mammals) are considered meat. All other animals (fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects, crustaceans, etc...) are not considered meat.

Why are the cold-blooded discriminated against?

So is the meat | fish line based on blood temperature or how an animal spends its day?
