If you going to try the Drill way, you will need to have the breakers on up to the outlet you are using.

Yea. A good way to cheat is to use a cordless drill to spin the drill that's plugged into the outlet. Just make sure you have your shite together first and don't be an idiot and break your arm off.

You can also re-excite the rotor with a battery. Find the leads coming from the rectifier to the rotor magnets and juice them. Probably a good idea to unhook the regulator first so you don't fry your brand new regulator from hitting the wrong thing.

I'll try to get time for a better explanation later. The drill is the easiest way
