I dont post here really, but I'm a big Pels fan... It is absolutely ridiculous how much our players get injured year in and year out. I understand injuries happen, but it seems to me that it is much more prevalent in our locker room. I dont know if its diet, stretching, weight lifting or what, but something does not seem to be right.

shite happens... Ultimately it's on the athlete to keep himself healthy.

When Demps came in the first thing he did was replace the previous head trainer. IIRC that guy left after 2 years and he was replaced with John Ishop. Ishop left for Detroit this season and was replaced by long time Saints trainer Duane Brooks. So there has been a steady flow of new blood at the head trainer spot (although all have been internal promotions rather than bringing in someone from the outside).

All reports from when the players talk about stuff they're doing, I think they all are pretty reasonable when it comes to that. Rolled ankles, calf strains, even AD's back are probably not things you can do much about, it's just part of the game. The only really questionable things are Ryno and Jrue. I remember seeing some concerns about their conditioning at the start of the season because neither was able to work out much over the summer. I'm not sure how you handle that any differently though. Holding them out of games for several weeks isn't an option, do you put them on minutes restrictions?

I think it's just one of those years. It's honestly happening all over the league. I'd say OKC and Houston have had comparable injury issues to the Pels this season. Chicago's not to far behind.

I agree. Last year may have been coincidence and outside the norm. Two years in a row is a trend and that shows something is wrong

You would have to fire all the trainers in the NBA. Houston has Pat Beverly and Dwight Howard out. Derrick Rose and some others in Chicago. Bryant out at Lakers. Pacers have their Ace out.

The list goes on and on. This season, I think, is the worst I have seen in a long time.

Back to Back games are fatiguing players who then become injury prone.
