Straight shift Echo from Home Depot.

You don't need a Stihl, regardless of what the following post claim. Save your money.

Straight shaft

Best option is a stihl or an echo, but not from the big box stores

Those might be out of your price range though

Personally, I have a troy bilt with interchangeable attachments and I'm happy with it after 2 seasons

I have a curved shaft Stihl, and it's a great machine, but I should have gotten the straight shaft.

Stihl here.

I'm pretty sure you can find a straight shaft in your price range.

Used to have a lawn service in high school/college. Ran a straight shaft stihl. That thing had some serious power. Dont get a curved shaft. The straight shafts are more efficient as far as time goes and if you get good you can flip them over and edge with them too.

If youre in the $150-200 range you can probably get a good echo at home depot. I had a few of those and they ran pretty well.

FWIW I've been out the grass business for a few years now and I kinda miss it every now and then. Can't wait to get back on the zero turn

I bought a Ryobi multi-attachment tool. The trimmer head comes with it., and I got the pole-saw attachment as well. It is a 4-stroke so you don't have to worry about mixing. Just check the oil levels every few uses. So far (2 years), it has run great with no problems, and the maintenance is very easy. For the record, I know nothing about working on anything mechanical, and I fixed all of the small problems I had just by following the instruction manual.

Straight Echo

I love the Echo weed eater. I weed eat and edge with it. Corner lot works the hell out of it and it starts right up and is strong enough to edge
