I don't see it going to another UEFA or CONMEBOL team with 2014 being in Brazil and 2018 being in Russia. It seems like CONCACAF is up, but I wouldn't be surprised if like Australia got it.

I don't think there's an actual rule about a certain region hosting it, but I think it's obvious they try and split it up.

Here's how long it will have been for a region since the last one they hosted:

Europe: 8 years (Russia)
Asia: 4 years (Qatar)
South America: 12 years (Brazil)
Africa: 16 years (South Africa)
North America: 32 years (United States)
