I hate to burst your bubble, but here's what going to happen...
Call or write your legislator all you want, but know that the Sheriff's Association and the DAs Association will be against this and this bill will be lucky to get out of committee.
It will receive less than 30 votes if it ever makes it to the House floor.

And La is full of people that will gladly weigh 300 pounds, suck the government tit in every form of welfare, and do anything to avoid following the law. BUT, they damn sure will believe their preacherman when he says that the weed is from the devil and can't be legal.

The proposal hasn't even been brought up to the Legislature yet. How on people going to vote one way or the other. Good factual information is always the best BTW, if it ever comes up for a vote in LA, I'll cast a NO vote.
