This is really true, our friends had no idea how much time, money, and physical effort it takes for every single team out there.

In fact I think the smaller teams put in MORE time and money per person because many of those teams have very few, if any sponsors, less access to nice rigs and smokers, and in most cases don't have the ability to throw big fundraisers. That said, the non-"non-restaurant and big sponsor" teams are what makes Hogs really an awesome event and different from your normal festival. Hogs allows almost any group to participate, raise money for charity, and have a great time.
