Also, apparently you're not allowed to carry around a loaded weapon and your unloaded pistol/revolver has to be in a case.

Why bother with all the bullshite of bringing a gun if you're gonna have to leave it unloaded and cased? It's not going to help you out in an emergency.

Not to mention most condos/ vacation rental places don't allow firearms.

I wouldn't mess with it. Too much of a hassle between dealing with TSA, the state of Hawaii, etc. for something you likely won't need.
