If be willing to wager you have evaporative cooling going on, something the dog can't enjoy.
One of my dogs had a heat stroke when he was maybe 8 months old.
Ever since then, if it breaks 65 you have to keep him from running. If it breaks 80, he has to be kept inside in AC.
Poor guy has literally gasped until dropping blood from his mouth as we tried to cool him with ice alcohol and constant water.
Most dogs with shorter snouts have a helluva time regulating temperature.
