I did it.

Left a high paying, full partnership and upcoming appointment to the board of directors to start my own private practice.

It is awesome.

Job satisfaction has never been higher.

If you work really hard for someone else, they are always making more money OFF you than they are paying TO you.

Not complicated.

If you like to have free time and tend to jerk off at the office and come in late and leave early....do not do it.

Small business is for those of us who have a strong work ethic.

It almost feels like we're in a similar industry structure. It could be finance/law/consulting/small tech. And that is the point. Because of where our firm is I get to come in late and leave early. I feel like I can create growth out on my own. Most of the partners are older and they only care about maintaining status quo.
