Ok maybe those 4 aren't copies of each other. I just associate them all together into one big folk movement. Some of the bands are hard to tell apart, and that's the truth.

I just can't find anything from these bands that really sets them apart from each other, with maybe the exception fo Fleet Foxes.

To me, they were all pretty unique at launch. I would be hard pressed to find a major band that sounds like Of Monsters and Men or Mumford, although I'm sure they're influencing upstarts.

That said, really distinct bands in the genre, like those two or Lord Huron or something, start to sound redundant because they put out 3 albums of 12 songs each all of which carry that "distinct" sound. Thus, I think they're more fairly criticized as having all songs sound the same (which is the same in any genre, but nobody says this about Foo Fighters because they're not distinctive). That said, I'm sure there are lesser known bands trying to out-mumford Mumford, but I just haven't really listened to them.
