Actually - The most condescending thing a person can do is try to tell you about some problem of their own that they seem to think trumps yours. I've never had a friend do this to me...but I've seen people my friends call friends do it.

When my sister died unexpectedly, my parents were told they need to get over it a few months later.
I wasn't a parent back then so I couldn't empathize. But now that I am and I can feel the pain from my parents, I would have choked the SOB.
That's my answer to the OP.
