So you are telling me an A/C configured to hold 11 pax in the seats minus the 4 crew you also magically had 3 pax sitting on the floor unsecured? Yeah I'm sure. We have all kinds of experts here..
This was a MARSOC mission - they do all kinds of crazy stuff, hanging out the side of the helicopter - but I tend to agree, though, 4+14 sounds like no seats - or maybe just the back row of 4 left in. With 11 seated, belted passengers, that would be a tight, tight fit to squeeze 3 more unsecured and it would be nothing like safe.

So you were responding to me when you said that initially, basically saying I or my friend want attention.
It seemed pretty obvious to me...

zero Army Aviation knowledge
(1) Says the guy that was proven wrong repeatedly
(2) An SH-60 and a UH-60, there aren't that many differences

From the LAANG media advisory
quote:
NEW ORLEANS – Two UH-60 BlackHawk aircraft assigned to the Hammond, Louisiana Army National Guard were participating in a training exercise over night. One aircraft with four aircrew and seven Marines assigned to Camp LaJeune, North Carolina, was involved in an accident near Eglin range site A-17, east of the Navarre Bridge in Florida.
The helicopter was reported missing at about 8:30 p.m. last night. Debris from the aircraft was located by search and rescue team at about 2 a.m. this morning. Search and rescue efforts are underway at the accident site currently. The second helicopter and its personnel on board have returned and are accounted for at this time. The aircraft are assigned to the 1-244th Assault Helicopter Battalion in Hammond, Louisiana.
They were participating in a routine training mission involving the Marine Special Operations Regiment from Camp LeJeune. Names of the aircrew and Marines on board are being withheld pending NOK notification. The accident is under investigation.
Additional details will be provided as they become available. The crash is under investigation.

I have tons of Army aviation knowledge. Outside avionics, there isnt really a difference in a SH-60 vs UH-60. As a matter of fact, the difference in any -60 airframe whether is a MH-60S or a UH-60A is minimal.

One of them was my personal friend. He was one of the pilots. Very sad day for me, my family and friends.

By 11:15 a.m., relatives of all four of those guardsmen had been notified, though their names won't be released publicly until the Coast Guard recovers their bodies or calls off the search, said Col. Pete Schneider, a Louisiana National Guard spokesman.

I've heard repeatedly that fog was a big factor, so I guess you could assume the pilots lost their orientation. Although a few people have pointed out that the blackhawk is more than capable of functioning in these conditions.

It's capable. But I personally think flying IFR in a helo is kinda pointless. Unless it's just land at an airport in the terminal phase low level IFR in helicopters is dangerous.

Fog is still crazy bad for the search.

There's no telling what happened. It apparently wasn't a mid-air collision with another aircraft, but aside from that, who knows?
Was it bayside or gulf side? I'm assuming gulf side...
