Sweet, good to know. Luckily I have never damaged a laptop beyond a scuff.
The one time I had something go bad and I got it repaired at the Apple Store, it appeared to be a failing hard drive. It was out of warranty so I replaced the hard drive myself, and the issue still wasn't fixed. I then narrowed it down to being the cable that connects the hard drive to the SATA controller and drove to the Apple Store 10 mins before they closed and convinced them to not only take me without an appointment, but to fix the laptop out-of-warranty for cost of parts only right there immediately.
