I still want to upgrade Monty, but I do think he has the potential to be our Scott Brooks. While that's far from the best case scenario, if KD leaves OKC it will be because of roster management/ownership cheapness, not Brooks' being a mediocre coach. Coaching is the quickest part of the equation to change. The only reason we need to be in a hurry to replace Monty is in the case of limited time opportunities, like maybe you think Thibs is the guy and he's going to be available. If we're on shaky ground with AD in 4 years it won't be because Monty got to coach the last year of his current contract it will be because the roster isn't good enough or management hasn't shown AD they are committed to winning.
