suppose Saban views getting recruits out of Louisiana as killing to birds with one stone - hurting LSU at a minimum while helping Bama on the field. He gets more bang for his buck.
He isn't doing it to 'hurt' LSU, he is over it and everyone else should be too...he is doing it to get the best players he can at Alabama.

Now, IF he was doing it to hurt LSU that would just be stupid. TN and AU are not slowing down right now, and with FSU back on top Alabama may want to watch their own backyard a little bit....but he is here because he has A)connections B) we have great players

If you don't think he goes after specific kids to hurt LSU, Auburn, as well as help him on the field then you are pretty naive.

Well, I would agree that he isn't recruiting LA kids out of spite. But by signing a LA kid, he both gains a good player AND keeps that kid from going to one of his chief rivals. All things being equal, if he can sign a kid and at the same time "hurt" an SEC West rival by stealing that kid from them, it's a win-win for him. The same would go for Auburn, TAM, etc. (Louisiana probably gets more attention than many other states simply because the state is so rich in talent, NOT because he has some kind of grudge against LSU.) And I would suspect that Les and every other coach feels the same way.

huh?

hell, all SEC coaches who recruit in LA should be happy it hurts LSU. I sure hope we try to hurt the competition by taking players from their state.
