My dad has several LSU Purple's. He also has Gold's, Tigers, Smiths, O'Rourke's and Alma's. I personally think the Alma's and Smiths are the best, but he loves his Purple's. I believe with the exceptions of the Alma, each of the variety's listed were developed in Louisiana, so they all fair well against disease, pest, and drought.
