I wouldn't go anywhere outside NYU, UF, or Georgetown. All others are too expensive for the mediocre job prospects in that field (in fact, Georgetown can be excluded from that list if you don't want to do govt. work).

Honestly, if it were me, I'd save the money and apply to firms with tax and/or M&A (also a ton of tax) groups and just explain your interest in the area. Targeted networking with tax attorneys will also help open doors. The LLM is definitely not required.
