re: Surgeons at MD Anderson vs Oschner's NOLA ? pancreas

My dad is fighting pancreatic cancer right now. Found out 2 days before Christmas. He was going to BR General and they were about to operate on him but he took his kids advice and went to MD Anderson to get a 2nd opinion. Sure enough, the doctors there said if they would have operated on him he wouldn't be alive today. The tumor was too close to a major blood vessel and wouldn't have been able to be taken out. The tumors exposure to oxygen would have rapidly increased it. Now, MD and the doctors here in BR are working together on his treatment and it is working!!!!!!

My advice, getting a second opinion from people who deal with type of cancer everyday won't hurt.
