Alright guys my padnuh is getting married and all the groomsmen are putting in for a ruger sr1911. My question is which model is the best? I have my eyes on a night watchmen but wanted to get some expert opinions.

There are three different SR1911s:

1. Government size (standard 5" barrel)
2. CMD or Commander size (4.25" barrel)
3. CMD lightweight with an aluminum frame (4.25" barrel)

All 3 are excellent options. Buck-for-buck, I think the SR1911 is the highest value American 1911 on the market. Here's my review of it:

First, I don't think you can go wrong. Second: does he have other pistols? If not I think one of the commanders would be the best "all around" choice. But that's what I personally have so I'm biased. If it's for target shooting, obviously the full size would be the best.
I also got these grips from Ruger:

If you guys want to get him something a little more "limited edition" than the regular stainless, I can order him a Night Watchman edition.

Very cool gun.
