Jason Heyward quote about Cardinals (per Nightengale USA Today article)

USA Today
I have a feeling Jason will become one of those legendary veteran Cardinals players who leads the organization to another championship. The Cardinals organization has a tradition of reviving star players who have plateaued at other organizations. Veterans come to St. Louis for one last chance to win a World Series...it's the place to go out with a bang.
quote:
"There's a whole lot of tradition here,'' (Jason) Heyward says. "They expect excellence. It's just a great mix of veteran guys and young and polished players. Everybody is hungry to win.''
The man is fitting right in.

I hope so, but I want to see him perform before I praise him as the next big thing. His defense has gotten much better, but his swing is still too long in my opinion. I hope we can help him shorten that a little bit.

Bob Nightengale better watch his back. With sunshine pumping like that, Heyward is obviously looking to replace BN.

Why are you talking like Jason Heyward is a 15 year vet? He is still a young cat. Lots of miles left on the tires for J Hey. I think a change will be good for him as well.

I'm sure Cards fans are going to enjoy watching him K on low-outside pitches in the dirt just as much as Braves fans.

On one hand, I wish you guys could have your own Cardinals thread and fling yourselves against the padded walls all day. On the other, the MSB would just be a bunch of season long team threads.

Dude, that is about as cookie cutter response as you can get from an athlete.
You wonder why people hate you? Bc you start a thread over a quote like this.
Did you expect him to say "I was expecting it to be an uncomfortable atmosphere bc home boy just killed himself and his gf in a car crash but boy was I wrong!!!!" wtf man quit posting

amen. cardinal fans are the best and y'alls franchise is certainly one of the best. you are a great cheerleader for the cards, even tho you take lots of shite for it.

I wouldn't say this is his one last chance. The dude is 25 years old...

This is a pretty nice troll, especially for you.

Braves organization is cancer. Glad he is gone

As much as it pains me to think about watching another Braves player leave and become successful, I'm pulling for JHEY in a big way. He was always one of the fan favorite in Atlanta and I expect he will put up great numbers in St Louis. Good for him.

One last shot? You act like he is some old accomplished veteran who will be retiring next year.

I'm no expert, but I've always thought he should stand closer to the plate. RHPs seem to fair pretty well against him on the outer half, but he seemed to struggled even worse against breaking balls down and away against LHPs. Of course, then he would open up a bit more in attempt to compensate and instead get busted on the inside half by overcompensating. If he can figure that out he'll be scary good. I just haven't seen him make that adjustment yet.
