Well said, I agree entirely. I hate the common opinion that last year that, being a deep draft at WR, we should have taken one at a later round. Yes it was a deep draft, but who's to say anyone after Cooks even registered as a blip on the Saints' radar. At some point you have to trust your scouts over the opinions of 3rd party draft "experts". It's clear they had and still have a high opinion of Cooks and his abilities.

I don't disagree with the things being said about age or potential.

Most complaints (including mine) had nothing to do with Cooks but rather the fact that trading up to get him added no value. You gave up your 3rd round pick to jump to get him with Benjamin, Richardson, Matthews, Adams, Landry all on the board still.

It was just not real smart. And looking back so far those other guys bear that out.

He could very well blow up for 1200yds and 12 tds next year but that hasn't happened yet and until it does I won't believe I was wrong.
