While everything you said is true most people don't understand the patience and time it takes to train a dog. People look for the laziest way to keep a pet.

Me personally I don't hit dogs but I also know how to train them and spend months working with them until I get the behavior I want.

Once I establish myself as alpha I can let a dog know I'm upset with a look and they will cower and lay out if the way until I command then to come out.
