To ask this, I question if you're even a fan of guitar, and not just a fan of a particular style. There are several popular basic guitar designs and many styles. Each of these types of players have skills that players of other styles don't:
Classical
Flamenco
Steel-string flatpicker
Steel-string fingerstyle
Electric rock
etc.
So the contributions to the personal library of great music that each of us have, come from many players. I can name favorite guitarists in several styles, but I would never compare them to each other, because it doesn't make sense to.

Dandy Lion: Chaconne ~ Yepes (DEP)
One of the best concerts I've ever been to was Narciso Yepes! The crowd kept calling him out for encores, and finally he said his footstool was tired, so he had to call it a night. I've also seen Andrés Segovia, Julian Bream, Sharon Isbin, The Romeros (the original version with the father), etc., although my favorite classical guitarist is the very obscure George Sakellariou.
I'm more into steel string fingerstyle these days. My favorite guitarist, Pierre Bensusan, is kind of obscure too, but for people who know his music, his concerts are mesmerizing.
