Yes.

I made the change about 1.5 years ago. Friend would constantly flake. I've done it all from arriving somewhere to hang out with her and her being 30+ minutes away, waking up early to meet her for brunch and being told as I get in my car that she is too tired to go, to her meeting me for drinks and telling me she has to be somewhere in 45 minutes, etc. Final straw was when we made plans on my only day off to have a slumber party at my place after she got off work (industry, so ~10:30pm) and I'd cook. Spent the entire day cleaning and buying groceries. Get a call from her at 10pm canceling in order to go out with her BF and coworkers.

I haven't asked her to hang out since. She stepped up for a while, but now she just constantly tells me she misses me and asks when we'll hang out. I love her dearly, but I can't arrange my life around someone to be flaked on. You make plans with me when you're ready to see me, and I'll keep them in mind.
