I've said all along I think we'll miss the first weekend of games but they'll get something worked out the week after and I still believe that. Even though it was a ridiculous proposal by the owners, the fact that they gave any sort of flexibility with FA is a good sign.

One key they need to get rid of is the club's perpetual rights of a player. For example, Herc Gomez's rights are held by Sporting KC despite the fact he hasn't even played for them since 2009. I'd be pissed too. No negotiating leverage whatsoever. If you want to come back, you are pretty much held hostage to SKC's demands.
