Where I play, it is a 1-3 NLH game. $100 minimum with max being 75% of big stack after play starts. You could set an opening buy in max of $500.

If you go smaller stakes, play 50 cent $1 blinds with min buy in at $20 and max at 100% of big stack.

Definitely make everyone buy chips to play. Also have some change ready especially if you play smaller stakes.

Play until you are ready to close up shop and like someone said, give a 30 min notice before ending it.

Just remember to have fun and not blow all of your rent money.

I've largely stopped playing poker. Got tired of the bad beats. Plus, the money in blackjack has been good lately. Made $2500 over New Years in Biloxi.
