I believe the only thing we know is from a few graffiti tags, carved W's in heads and the zombie torso bus.
Do we really need to know more to draw conclusions?
But I don't think it far fetched that the community could be somewhat playing Rick's group. I always thought it an odd choice of word for Aaron to use "Audition" when telling Rick what would take place inside the town. If the video conference was it, why not just say after you each talk to our leader? I think the initiation involves observing you on the outside and then testing you on the inside. They have lived in the enchanted freaking forest for years while the ZA has occurred, I don't think they would have kept it without some usefull skills.
Really don't think they are the wolves either. I do think the 3 exiled members are though and they are a big part of why Rick's crew was brought in. I think the additional tests are to make sure that they don't turn on them when the shite hits the fan.

something was also mentioned on the radio broadcast tyreese hallucination but I cant find a quote of it.
the graffiti said "wolves not far"
a "W" has been carved in the walkers and walker torsos they found.
the back of the comic Carl found (which was the girls, Enid's? interesting enough) said "Wolf Fight"
the pack of wolf-like dogs that came out of nowhere and attacked them and ended up getting shot and eaten.
