I'm sure we'll get a lot of Dark Knight Rises responses. It was universally acclaimed by critics and filmgoers alike, yet the movie snobs on this board believe it to be the worst movie to come out this decade.

I absolutely love TDKR but I don't think it received "universal critical acclaim", a lot of critics think Nolan reached just a little too far. I love it though so don't consider me one of the movie snobs.

As for me? The more I catch The Avengers on tv the more I hate it. Loki is a pussy and none of the heroes ever get in any sort of life threatening danger. It's the most simple minded movie with the lowest stakes I've ever seen for a superhero movie.

So if you can broadly generalize can't the "movie snobs?" Again, this board is extremely balanced, certainly overly critical sometimes, but balanced.

Creating so much false anger, you guys are a hoot. Of course it isn't the worst film of the decade, but it's probably Nolan's worst film by a good bit.

well, I'm no movie snob, but I really didn't like The Dark Knight Rises. I thought it was pretentious, overblown, and boring.
And honestly, whenever I hear the words "film snob", I think about that movie, and how it seems anybody who disliked it was basically labelled an idiot.

Overall, I tried to like Gravity, but just could never get over how comically stupid and wrong George Clooney's death was. For something that seemed to strive for realism, that obvious gaffe blew it for me.
