Your title for your OP sucks arse. There was no probable cause to stop Gonzales. You say, in a squeaky voice, "but, but, he was carrying and assault rifle." Still, it is legal, Texas LEO's can not force a person walking to ID themselves and Gonzales did nothing wrong. There's probably 10,000 criminals in a 5 mile radius of that area that have illegal firearms, but they'll run from the police or shoot at you.

I have a 2 part question for you:

1. What if a person dressed up in a black trench coat and stood 1001 feet from an elementary school while carrying 2 AR-15's and just stared at the kids playing on the playground while pacing back and forth. They wouldn't be breaking any laws, should the police come up and ask for ID?

2. If you said yes why? If you said no, and the person ended up shooting all of the kids, should the police be liable for not doing anything?
