I'm still at it. Did 6 weeks of crossfit but didn't want to pay $100/month to keep going so I started P90X3 this week. Crossfit got me in good enough shape to make it through the P90 workouts. I haven't lost any weight but I don't care about that. Pants are looser and I have a shite load more energy and overall just feel less stress.

Technically yes. From 3 years ago.

Joined a gym on 1/1/2012.
6'1" 240lbs
Did mostly cardio for the first 16 months.
Changed eating habits. Not a diet, changed them.
Went from 240 to 192. Yes... Trying to make it to 189 but never made it.

April 2013 Changed jobs:
Decided to start weight training along with cardio
Among other things....
Did bench presses with just the bar barely for 10 reps
Curl bar with 10lbs on each side barely for 10 reps
Incline squats with just the sled.
Goal to do 135 on the bench, 25lbs on each side on the curl, 180 on the sled for incline squat

Now: still 6'1" 215 lbs
Not great yet but steadily improving.
Eating habits still changed with some added protein etc for the lifting
Among other things....
4 sets of 10 with 135 on the bench
4 sets on 10 with the curl bar with 25lbs on each side
220 on the sled for incline squats.
Still progressing with more to come.

It can be done, but it is a long road.
