Is it unfair to disregard the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference?

Great home crowd, and one of the most efficient offenses in the NBA. And they are one of the deepest teams in the league. Currently, they are 3-1 this season against Atlanta, while 1-2 against Cleveland.

Should they be in the discussion of EC contenders?

Definitely considering most LeBron teams have a bit of mental softness to them.

Yeah no reason to disregard them at all. Fwiw they played and beat the hawks twice in like the first 15 games of the year before things were clicking for Atlanta so I wouldn't read that much into that either.

They are good though. Could definitely make the ECF.

It's not unfair. It's generally easier to determine contenders from non-contenders in the NBA than in other professional sports leagues. Seeding will determine whether or not they get to the ECF but that's as far as they go.

If we're talking about whether or not they can get to the NBA Finals, they can't. I think most of us know they can't.

They are probably my 2nd favorite to come out after Cleveland. Their front court is questionable

Toronto isn't getting past the 2nd rd. Derozan hijacks far too many possessions and converts them at inefficient rates. They have no rim protectors. Their best player shoots 41% from the field, is only 6 ft tall, and plays at the most loaded position in the NBA. Their coach is average at best.

Raptors and Hawks are the top 2 seeds in the east but no one is really scared of them or talking about them. I think cavs could handle both of them but who knows. That's what the playoffs are for
