I think up until 2013, the Spurs were probably the only team left that I allowed myself to root for with a childlike fervor. Probably easier to do so since some of the guys I grew up cheering for were still on the team. Saw the dark side of that after the Finals that year, and got my shite together like a grown arse man should have done a long time ago

Sounds like 2011 LSU for me. Senior year in college, been a fan my whole life, season tickets and making all but 3 games all season. Team was so awesome to watch. Thinking this is finally the GOAT team that I've been waiting for. Then it get ripped out in the biggest what the frick game I have ever witnessed. Everyone depressed for like a month after that. I don't think I watched sport center or read either rant for months
